A Sapling for My Roots

Nilhan Sesalan studied Sculpture at Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul. The artist has held nine solo exhibitions in various countries and participated in numerous international group exhibitions and symposiums. In Türkiye, she is the creator of the “Homeland” and “Migration” Monuments, as well as the “All Waters Mix” sculpture in Germany and “Vipassana” in India.
For the “Baku Steel Art 2024” metal symposium, Nilhan Sesalan created the sculpture “A Sapling for My Roots”: “At the end of the first quarter of the 21st century, I created this sculpture titled ‘A Sapling for My Roots’ from stainless steel and metal. The sapling, feeling the fragility of our existence, hugs its leaves with tenderness, wishing peace for humanity and our planet.”
