At “Baku Steel Art 2025,” Zamik Rzayev presented a work entitled “Anchor.” “In this work, I depicted an anchor in the Caspian Sea. The composition embodies the image of a drying Caspian. Throughout history, the Caspian Sea has been known for its countless anchors, however today, facing the process of drying out; it seems to be washed ashore.
The reflective effect of water is intentionally used, so that each viewer sees himself in the piece and asks: “Do I have a role in the drying up of the Caspian Sea?” or “What can I do to prevent it from drying up?”, “How attentive are we to this issue, and how indifferent have we become?” For me, when I think about water and metal, the anchor comes to mind as a symbol of both balance and responsibility.”
