Freshness
Cengiz Yuzsever | Türkiye
Cengiz Yuzsever was born in 1967 in Büyükada, Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye. From 1985 to 1989, he studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Mimar Sinan University, specializing in Sculpture.
At the symposium, Cengiz Yüzsever presented the composition “Freshness.” “In this work, I tried to combine human movement and emotion with the rhythm of water. The figure diving into water appears as a single moment within a sequence of movements, containing both the before and the after. I wanted to emphasize the purest and most delicate moment of this sequence —the dive into the water and the sense of lightness it brings.
The spherical additions on the figure's head reflect its inner world, a sense of excitement and calm. Every detail conveys the dynamism and emotional intensity of this moment to the viewer. The spiral, symbolizing water, represents the movement of the dive, its rhythm and harmony that merge with the flow of water.
This monument reflects not only motion but also emotion, tension, and freedom, giving viewers the opportunity to feel a fleeting unity with water, freshness, and the rhythm of life.”
